The company’s management team brings a wealth of experience in information security in both the realm of practice and product development, with a minimum of at least 15 years of dedicated industry experience.
Elad Yoran, Chairman and CEO
Elad’s nearly 20 years in the cyber security industry spans experience as an executive, consultant, investor, investment banker and a several-time successful entrepreneur. Elad’s entrepreneurial experience includes Riptech, the pioneering provider of managed security services to governments and Fortune 500 corporations around the world, acquired by Symantec Corporation, Sentrigo, a leading provider of database security recently acquired by McAfee, and MediaSentry, a provider of anti-piracy technology solutions to the motion picture, music and software industries, acquired by SafeNet. Elad has also served as Vice President, Global Business Development at Symantec and as Vice President at Broadview International (acquired by Jeffries), an investment bank focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry, where he led the firm’s information security practice. Elad has been recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young.
Elad also serves as general partner of Security Growth Partners and was a leading investor in NetWitness (acquired by EMC/RSA). He is a member of several technology, security and community Boards, including the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) New York Metro Chapter, KoolSpan (Chairman); FBI Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC) and the Department of Homeland Security Advisory Board for Command, Control and Interoperability for Advanced Data Analysis (CCICADA). Elad serves as Trustee of the Jewish Chapel Fund, US Military Academy at West Point.
Elad authored the Internet Security Threat Report, which was cited in briefings to the U.S. Congress. Elad served as an officer in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. degree with honors from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Ben Matzkel, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer
Ben Matzkel brings more than 15 years of information security and software engineering expertise to Vaultive, where he oversees product strategy as well as the company’s strategic partnership initiatives. Prior to co-founding Vaultive, Ben served as a senior product manager at McAfee, overseeing the product lifecycle, business focus and development roadmap of McAfee DLP (Data Loss Prevention). He joined McAfee as part of the Onigma (DLP) acquisition. At Onigma, Ben started and led the Professional Services team, handling all pre- and post-sale activities. Prior to starting this team, he designed the product’s enterprise interfaces and participated in the development of the product’s management console.
Ben performed his military service at 8200, the IDF’s leading intelligence unit, holding various technical positions in high-performance mission-critical and large-scale projects. During his service he was awarded the ‘distinguished soldier’ award. Ben graduated from the Interdisciplinary Center and the University of Pennsylvania and received a B.A. in Computer Science, Magna Cum Laude. He was awarded the distinguished Efi Arazi scholarship for future technology entrepreneurs and the Chais family award for superior academic achievements.
Maayan Tal, Co-Founder and CTO
With more than 15 years of experience as a professional software engineer and proven leadership skills, Maayan leads Vaultive’s research and development effort, manages the engineering team and serves as general manager of Vaultive Israel. Prior to co-founding Vaultive, Maayan served as the R&D manager at McAfee’s Israeli development site, where he was responsible for planning and executing development, as well as leading various teams through development and support efforts of an enterprise product deployed at Fortune 500 client accounts. Maayan joined McAfee as part of the Onigma (DLP) acquisition, where he played a major part in designing and developing the product and leading the team.
Maayan has also worked as an independent professional consultant for dozens of military projects at leading Israeli software companies including Ness TSG, Rafael, Tadiran and Taldor, in a variety of different fields such as financial applications, GIS, databases, Web development, intelligence and command and control with major roles in the design, development and integration phases both in Israel and abroad. Maayan graduated from the IDF Elite Computer Science School (Mamram).
Shelley Vereen, VP of Sales
Shelley is responsible for driving the strategic and operational elements of Vaultive’s sales force, encompassing direct and indirect sales, reporting directly to the CEO. Prior to joining Vaultive, she developed and implemented a global sales strategy for security products at Microsoft and led and managed large US Public Sector teams at Symantec. Prior to Microsoft and Symantec, Shelley was a key contributor in driving sales momentum at Raptor Systems and Riptech, leading up to their respective acquisitions. Her 20-year career reflects her commitment to customers’ security and satisfaction, and building and leading great teams.
Shelley started her career in technology with network equipment innovators Ungermann Bass and SynOptics Communications.
Shelley holds a Bachelor of Management degree from Boston College.
Aviad Lahav, Systems Architect
Aviad has been building and designing performance-critical systems for over fifteen years in the embedded, security and telecomms industries. Prior to Vaultive, Aviad has served as a system architect at Samsung Telecomm Research Israel (STRI), pioneering innovative software solutions and leading design and development of a range of embedded software and run-time components. He has represented Samsung in Khronos Group’s OpenKODE standardization committee for a cross-platform mobile media and graphics API. Aviad has served as a software engineer in the Israel Defense Force (IDF) after completing the IDF’s Mamram software engineering training course. Aviad holds a double major in physics and computer science from Tel-Aviv University, and is a keen world traveler and language enthusiast.
David “Dudi” Cohen, Research & Development Manager
Dudi manages Vaultive’s development group. Dudi brings years of leadership and experience in product development and management as well as quality assurance. Prior to Vaultive, Dudi led Negevtech’s core R&D team, where he managed development of wafer inspection machines. Dudi also served as the product manager of Negevtech’s software department. Before Negevtech, Dudi developed cutting-edge marine control systems at TotemPlus. Dudi holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Ben-Gurion University.
Steve Coplan, Sr. Director of Marketing & Strategy
Steve brings tremendous Information Security expertise and experience to Vaultive, both in industry analysis and product marketing. Prior to Vaultive, Steve served as a research manager within 451 Research’s Enterprise Security Practice where he researched security technology trends and delivered strategic advisory services to end-users, investors and vendors. Steve previously served as director of product marketing at Whale Communications, a secure remote-access vendor acquired by Microsoft in 2006. At Whale, he was responsible for implementing the product marketing strategy for a corporate repositioning, and also worked on post-acquisition strategy.
Yael Nishry, Director of Business Development
Yael Nishry brings to Vaultive a wealth of experience in security sales, business advisory and risk management experience. She is a professional services executive with in depth understanding of business drivers and experience in designing controls to mitigate and manage risk. Previously, Yael held managerial positions with KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she provided risk management and regulatory consulting for complex IT organizations at Fortune 500 companies.
Ron Koren, Director of Professional Services
Ron leads Vaultive’s customer facing engineering team. His experience includes the development and deployment of worldwide large-scale projects for commercial and government organizations. Ron’s expertise includes in depth knowledge of a diverse set of Information Security technologies and communication protocols. Prior to Vaultive, Ron served as a team leader and senior system engineer at Cisco Systems, and led an elite IT security deployment team while an officer in the Israel Defense Force (IDF).
